About this Tour

LSBMagnificently positioned in the Tagus estuary, with its mild climate, unique light, the delicious sea-breeze and the surroundings of great beauty, Lisbon is an unparalleled European destination. Museums and historical monuments, ancient neighbourhoods, palaces and castles, magnificent beaches and numerous attractions await you.

On this tour you will be enchanted by the Jerónimos Monastery and Belém Tower. You will see the Saint Jorge Castle, discover the famous tram, and also Avenida da Liberdade, the favourite place of the elite during the 19th century. You will visit the Historical Centre, World Heritage Site, with the beautiful squares of Rossio and Terreiro do Paço and the downtown area, a real open-air shopping centre.

FátimaOn this tour we will visit the Fatima Shrine, the world’s largest centre of worship of the Virgin Mary, located in Cova da Iria, where, on May 13th, 1917, three shepherds, Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta, had an apparition of Our Lady, brighter than the sun, on the top of a holm oak tree.

Following this event and the apparitions that took place in the following months and the so-called miracle of the sun on 13th October of the same year, Fatima became the site of intense devotion and pilgrimage, especially on the 13th of each month and particularly in the months of May and October. Every year, about 5 million pilgrims and tourists from around the world flock to the f Fatima Shrine, which was visited by Pope John Paul II in 1982, 1991 and 2000 and more recently, in 2010, by Pope Benedict XVI
